News about the UK classifieds website-
Ads expiration has been removed
Posted on June 7th, 2010 No commentsSince 180 days seems not to be enough for some of our ads we have decided to eliminate the expiration of ads. So from now on, if you decide to remove a classified ad from our website you need to click on the link you get from us when you post the ad. Otherwise you will have to submit a removal request on our contact page which can take days to process.
We hope this is good news for our permanent advertisers.

New countries were banned
Posted on November 22nd, 2009 2 commentsWe regret to announce that 3 more countries were added to our ban list.
Due do amount of spam coming from India we hardly decided to ban this country for good. We took this decision not only because adverts from this country are 99% spam, but also because there is a very very low commercial benefit from having them as visitors. It’s a waste of bandwidth and time for moderation to allow visitors from this country on our website.
The other 2 countries are Nigeria and Cameroon. The posters from these African countries are prolific scammers and we also decided to ban them forever.
Last, but not least, Pakistan stays banned and we renewed the IP ranges for a better filtering.
The next countries on the black list are China, Indonesia, Malaysia and South Africa.
We remind you AdsFarm is a classified ads website United Kingdom and Ireland targeted.
Latest edit (27.11.2009): India is allowed again. It seems that our search engine traffic significantly decreased after we banned this country. Anyway, we improve our antispam filter everyday.

We now offer Targeted Advertising!
Posted on August 26th, 2009 No commentsWe proudly announce that from now on we can satisfy our customers offering targeted advertising on adsfarm.co.uk. Briefly, it works something like that:
Let’s suppose I have a cleaning business in Manchester. What I can do is place a banner or a link where people are looking for similar ads. So I will choose Manchester and possibly surrounding areas, and also categories related to my business as well (cleaning services, business services, house clearances etc.).
Then I choose an ad slot where I want my banner/link to be displayed, contact the sales department, choose a running period and done!

Nigerian posts will be deleted by default
Posted on May 2nd, 2009 6 commentsIn our efforts to maintain a scam free and a spam free website we often check posters to identify scammers.
We recently discovered a nigerian scammer trying to sell Nikon D3x cameras for $500. These nigerians and also Cameroon posters use to sell other electronics and pets. We will try to delete all african adverts before someone falls into their trap. We also encourage you to do business face to face as much as possible.
We will support our decision reproducing an email conversation with a scammer:

First of all: why is it so cheap? You sell for $500 a camera worth ?5.000. What’s the catch?
I also presume your company has a website with contact details, terms and condition, privacy policy etc. How can I be sure you have a genuine business and how can you guarantee I’ll get what I’ll pay for?

Now sir, without offence… this is a scam. You will be reported to the site admin.1. 23 western lake road is not in glasgow.
2. london is not a state, and glasgow is 403 miles north of london city
3. zip code g12 be8 is inexistent
4. you dont even know and actually you dont care at all what you “sell” because in one of your emails you said “phone” instead of “camera”
5. this company “Electronic Systems Ltd” is in Hertfordshire indeed but it has been active only between December 2005 and March 2007.
6. any company has a bank account
7. your website is a mikymouse created as a subdomain on a free site hosting named page.tl (tl meaning it’s for Timor Leste – East Timor, somewhere in SE Asia)
8. any UK company affords a .co.uk website
9. you still didn’t answer my question why this camera (D3x) is so cheap. I know why… because you dont care.
10. but the most important thing (and I’m not a racist) is you are nigerian.These should be enough arguments for me not to do business with you.
Thank you!

I live in the UK now and I know a little bit about postcodes. And you don’t have to beg me for my personal details. I dont want to fall into identity theft trap.

Pakistan has been banned
Posted on March 20th, 2009 No commentsDue to very high amount of spam ads coming from Pakistan we have decided to deny access to visitors landing on adsfarm.co.uk from this country.
Also, blacklisted countries are India, Nigeria and Cameroon. They will probably be banned as well if they don’t stop spamming.
We apologize for any inconvenience,

Fighting “work-at-home” spam
Posted on March 16th, 2009 4 commentsStarting tomorrow, 17th of March 2009, the following types of ads will not be allowed anymore:
- affiliate “business opportunities” with affiliate links;
- “work-from-home” ads;
- “easy-cash” ads;
- promoting any other services from websites like clicknearn.net and similar websites;
- ads reffering to the same thing with different title posted from the same IP and/or email address;
- any other classifieds we may consider as spam.
The exception of the above rule will be applied only for paid ads.
Ads posted untill 17.03.2009 will not be deleted, they will be let to expire after normal 180 days. Should you try to avoid this rule will result in deleting your classified ads and banning your IP address.
Avoiding all of the above types of ads will make adsfarm.co.uk a quality ads website.
Thank you for understanding,

Get on Google search results in 30 minutes
Posted on January 5th, 2009 4 commentsMost people come to our classifieds site from Google. They are looking for certain things and they land exactly on the page they are looking for. Why? Because our site is Search Engine Optimized (SEO). This time we’ll tell you one of the best methods to get listed in Google results page in less than one hour. We really give away this information because you choose to advertise on AdsFarm and we want to help you save time and money! Many people pay to know what we’ll tell you here. So, all you have to do are these simple steps (not more that 5 minutes, but it’s worth):
- Create a Digg account. If you already have one just go and login first.
- Place your desired advert on AdsFarm.co.uk in the right Location, Category and Subcategory.
- After you’re done click on your advert link.
- On the top right hand side you’ll see this button:
. Be sure you’re on the page containing your ad. - Roll your mouse over and a window will pop-up. Choose Digg like in the following example:

- After “digging” your page, you will be prompted to choose a title and a description. Choose smart. Title says everything. So, instead of something that says nothing like “Click here for a new offer” or “Read my advert now” choose a descriptive title (eg. “Flat to rent in Kingsbury, London” or ” Siberian Husky puppies available”). Do the same with the description. Choose something like “A luxury three bedroomed apartment with a stunning roof terrace offering unrivalled views across London” or “We have a Beautiful 7 1/2 week old Female Black and White Siberian husky puppy for sale. She is 3/4 Siberian Husky and 1/4 Alaskan Malamute. Fantastic temperament and has been living in a home with toddlers.” Avoid prices in this short description because the potential customer may lose the interest. You have to attract him or her to the website to read all the advert and convince him or her to buy your stuff.
- Choose a topic and, if available, an image as well (if your classified ad has at least one image you will see it here). Type in the security code and press “Submit story” button. Digg will check for duplicates and it will display some possible matches to your post. Scroll down and choose “totally original, I swear!” button.
- That’s it, you’ve just told Google that your advert is the most important thing on the Internet and he will index your text within 30 minutes or less. Now your ad will be displayed in search results with a top priority (often in top 10 search results!). You can check later by quering Google for what you have to offer.
If you still have questions about this promotion method please post a comment to this article and we’ll try to answer.
PS: don’t forget to digg this post too
